Looking for extra income and resume-building experience with children? Moraga Valley Presbyterian Church seeks a Nursery Coordinator to engage toddlers and preschoolers during our weekly programs. 

Responsibilities include:

- Oversee and interact with up to 15 children ages 1-5
- Lead fun, creative activities like crafts, music, storytime
- Ensure a safe, nurturing environment  
- Communicate with parents  

Hours are Thursdays and Sundays from 9am-12pm plus additional times as needed. Total time worked will not exceed 10 hours per week.  

This is a great opportunity for students and adults interested in education, childhood development, or related fields. Gain hands-on experience working with young children in a church setting. Develop skills in childcare, early education, classroom management, and more—all great resume-building experience!  

Pay is $20 per hour. The position requires passing a criminal background check and undergoing mandatory training.

Position Title: Associate Pastor/Director of Discipleship and Community
Reports to: Lead Pastor

Overview:
The Pastor of Discipleship and Community provides leadership and strategic oversight to the church’s discipleship pathway, with direct responsibility for the development of leaders, care systems, and formation environments. This person will equip and lead ministries that foster spiritual maturity, intergenerational connection, and gospel-rooted community. They will also support the care needs of the church alongside the Care Pastor and provide high-level vision and direction for family ministry and missions engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
Discipleship Leadership
  • Develop and implement a cohesive discipleship strategy from cradle to legacy
  • Equip and support leaders of community groups, formation cohorts, and teaching environments
  • Shape a clear spiritual formation pathway for congregants at every stage of life
Congregational Care & Counseling
  • Partner with the Care Pastor to meet the counseling, crisis, and support needs of the congregation
  • Help design scalable care systems (follow-up, training, lay care teams, etc.)
  • Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual direction as needed
Family & Generational Ministries
  • Give leadership and support to the Next Generation Minister and team
  • Ensure that children, student, and parent ministries align with the church’s vision of joyful surrender and transformation
  • Foster intergenerational discipleship across ministries
Strategic Oversight of Missions
  • Provide high-level leadership to global and local mission initiatives
  • Ensure alignment between outreach and discipleship efforts
  • Equip the congregation to see all of life—including their vocation—as mission
Core Competencies & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in pastoral leadership, spiritual formation, and team development
  • A shepherd’s heart with a strategic mind
  • Skilled in care, counseling, and volunteer development
  • Theological depth with a strong grasp of gospel-centered discipleship
  • Experience with family and generational ministry is a significant asset
  • Able to become ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC)
